Here is what’s happening in the 4th-5th Grade classes at SBC-Prep!  Students are busy, busy, busy learning their parts, and practicing for the school’s Annual Black History Program. They are learning a lot about  the achievements and contributions made by black Americans.
In Language Arts, they are diagramming sentences, identifying the parts of speech within various sentences, writing book reports, identifying subjective, possessive, and objective pronouns, and learning to place apostrophes and contractions in the correct places within words.
In Math classes, they are dividing problems with numbers in the hundreds of thousands as the dividend, with 2-3 digit numbers as the divisors.  They are solving equations, adding and subtracting fractions, and mixed numbers, finding the least common denominators, reducing fractions, adding and subtracting decimals, ranking decimals as greater than, or lesser than, measurement problems and story problems.
Students are improving their cursive handwriting daily, improving their spelling and reading, as well as writing paragraphs from given topics.
Students are also learning a lot of information about science and history. They make airplanes, and other projects related to the topics of discussion.

As you can see, the 4th and 5th graders stay busy, but we always find time to add fun throughout our busy schedule.
